About
European Union Youth Orchestra Founded by a unanimous vote of the European Parliament in 1976, the European Union Youth Orchestra is one of the world’s pre-eminent symphony orchestras, described as “among the élite institutions of its kind” by the New York Times and “the best possible ambassador for the European Union” by former EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
Every year the EUYO selects the most talented musicians aged 16 to 26 from the 27 EU Member States through a rigorous audition process. The selected members rehearse with great mentors and perform worldwide in major tours and musical projects. A truly global brand, the EUYO has performed in most of the world’s major concert halls and festivals, appearing in hundreds of venues across five continents.
Over the years, the EUYO worked with many of the world’s most outstanding musicians, including Daniel Barenboim, Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, Mstislav Rostropovich, and particularly with our three former Music Directors: Claudio Abbado, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Bernard Haitink, and with our current Chief Conductor, Vasily Petrenko.
As a result, former members are now notable conductors, soloists, teachers and instrumentalists working with major orchestras in Europe and the world. This is what has made the EUYO an exceptional bridge between music colleges and the professional world for generations of the EU’s finest musicians.
In recent years, the EUYO has added to its enviable tradition with a series of innovative learning and performance programmes that will help train young musicians with the skills necessary to meet the challenges of 21st-century society and audiences.

Daniel Rowland has established himself on the international scene as a versatile, charismatic and adventurous performer, with an extensive repertoire. In recent seasons, Daniel has performed with diverse orchestras He champions contemporary composers and is a passionate advocate of the concertos of Vasks, Lindberg, Glass, Saariaho and Van der Aa.
A passionate chamber musician, Daniel has performed with artists as diverse as Ivry Gitlis, Heinz Holliger, Gilles Apap, Anna Fedorova, and Elvis Costello. He is a founding member of a cutting-edge Tango Quintet with bandoneon virtuoso/composer Marcelo Nisinman.
With a vast discography as soloist, leader and chamber musician, Daniel’s latest release with Ukrainian pianist Borys Fedorov, Silvestrov: The Messenger, was given 5 stars and the ‘Chamber Choice’ award in BBC Music Magazine (Feb 2023).

Orkestra Rinore e Bashkimit Evropian (EUYO) E themeluar me votim unanim të Parlamentit Evropian në vitin 1976, Orkestra Rinore e Bashkimit Evropian është një nga orkestrat simfonike më eminente në botë, e përshkruar si “ndër institucionet elitare të këtij lloji” nga New York Times dhe “ambasadori më i mirë i mundshëm për Bashkimin Evropian” nga ish-presidenti i Komisionit të BE-së, Jean-Claude Juncker.
Çdo vit EUYO zgjedh muzikantët më të talentuar të moshës 16 deri në 26 vjeç nga 27 shtetet anëtare të BE-së përmes një procesi rigoroz audicioni. Anëtarët e përzgjedhur bëjnë prova me mentorë të mëdhenj dhe performojnë në mbarë botën në turne të mëdha dhe projekte muzikore. Një markë vërtet globale, EUYO ka performuar në shumicën e sallave dhe festivaleve kryesore të koncerteve në botë, duke u shfaqur në qindra ambiente në pesë kontinente. Daniel Rowland është vendosur në skenën ndërkombëtare si një interpret i gjithanshëm, karizmatik dhe aventurier, me një repertor të gjerë.
