BL!NDMAN, drums – ICONS
BL!NDMAN [drums] is a Belgian contemporary percussion quartet and one of the specialised ensembles within the acclaimed music collective BL!NDMAN.
The quartet is driven by rhythmic adventurousness and a constant exploration of new sound worlds. Its innovative approach to percussion draws on contemporary classical, jazz, and Latin traditions, while continually expanding its instrumentation and sonic vocabulary.
At ReMusica Festival, BL!NDMAN [drums] presents a programme devoted to the early minimalist repertoire of composers including Philip Glass, Terry Riley, and Steve Reich. As part of a two-day workshop as artists in residency, the musicians take the stage with local musicians on Riley’s In C, a seminal work in the development of early minimalism.
